COMPONENTS TO A PERFECT SAFARI
WE HAVE DONE THE HOMEWORK!
We understand that there will be a lot of choices you will come across before you finalize your plans. With that in mind, here are a few key components we learned you MUST consider if you want to optimize your safari experience. Whether you visit Kenya or Tanzania for your safari trip, we want you to be prepared so that you can fully enjoy and make the most of your African safari experience!
KEY COMPONENTS
KISS SAFARIS
"THE OTHER GUYS"
SO WHAT?
VEHICLES
KISS Safaris uses both customized 4×4 Land Cruisers or Land Rovers with open air roofs and sliding glass windows designed to protect our cl ients from the elements and allow for a clear unobstructed view encountered on game drives.
Others play down the importance of the type of vehicle used in order to save costs. As a result, many tour operators fail miserably to provide the necessary comfort levels their clients need when driving in the Africa wilderness.
Driving in comfort in a vehicle you are going co spend hours in each day is key factor to consider. This is especially important for those who are prone to motion sickness or have bad backs. Your will find that morning drives will be quite cold at times and the many roads will be bumpy and/or dusty.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Experience the very high level of accommodation offered. Kiss Safaris has hand-picked luxury camps and lodges strategically located to provide the most game viewing experiences for our discerning clients. All selected accommodations are viewer rated as “excellent or better” on Trip Advisor.
Many tour operators use their own superlative adjectives when describing selected accommodations, but are they really?
As they say, it’s all about the Location, Location, Location. You don’t want to drive 30-45 to start your game drives. Also, being able to be pampered back at Camp will add that much more to your overall experience. The quality of the food is a big deal too!
PHOTOS
Relax, every KISS passenger is guaranteed a window seat to take pictures so that they can bring a part of the African Wilderness back home.
Many tour operators utilize mini-buses and sub-standard 4x4’s which are typically overcrowded and fail miserably when it comes to comfort and photo time.
Quite simply, pictures are going to be your most valuable souvenir on a safari. You can’t afford to miss the opportunity to take those awesome “fireplace mantel pictures”.
GUIDES
You will develop a personal repour with your KISS guide. KISS’s experienced guides/drivers are extremely knowledgeable of all the animals and their behavior and are so familiar with their surroundings that you will be in position many times to see the animals before other safari tour groups get there.
Examine and question your safari provider about your driver/guide. They will make or break your trip!
Your safari guide/driver is the key to your overall experience. You are guaranteed to have a great safari experience with the right guide.
DURATIONS
When KISS says a tour is 10-12 days long that means YOU will be in Africa for 10-12 days not including days for international travels!
Read the small print, some tour operators advertise tours as 10–12-days long in order to be competitively priced, but their clients are only are in Africa 8- 10 days.
Not all tours are like for like. If it’s the safari you are going for, every day in the “bush’ is important and you want to optimize the time spent there.
BUSH TIMES
KISS maximizes their clients’ time in the “Bush” because we know that is the most valued part of your trip!
Most tour operator’s itineraries include spending valuable time (a full day or extra days) in big cities like Nairobi visiting museums and animal sanctuaries. This is often used as a cost saving tactic by operators to eliminate the expense of adding 1-2 days of luxury bushcamp and park fees to their itineraries.
Don’t you want to spend as much time possible observing wildlife in its natural habitat?
PRIVATE TOURS
KISS offers nothing but private tours that can start any day! Best yet, KISS pricing is still the same or less when compared to other tour operators Group Tours! KISS guarantees confirmed bookings with a s little as (2) in a group.
Most tour operators don’t offer Private tours. Typically, a group tour is more economically feasible for a tour operator compared to a more stylized, private tour.
Your experiences will be largely dictated by the needs of strangers in a group. Normally, group tours rely on pre-fixed departure and return dates with no flexibility. Private tours on the other hand offer familiar faces with flexible schedules enabling you go with who you want to go with and when you want to go.
INTRA AIR
KISS maximizes the time you are in the “bush” by incorporating intra-air travel when necessary. Getting to your destination expeditiously and in comfort is the KISS way.
Most tour operators either do not include expensive intra-air travel between destinations or offer it as an optional feature. Many operators do include disclaimers though that warn clients of bumpy roads that may cause motion sickness and sore backs.
It’s your choice whether you want to be uncomfortable spending valuable hours (2-6) traveling in a vehicle between each destination at times with little to nothing to see.
TAILOR-MADE
We have done the homework for you. We know all the components that are needed to make a PERFECT SAFARI!
Many safari operators provide inferior base packages and leave it up to their clients to decide on options that often results in an advertised affordable price becoming a customized much more costly price.
If you haven’t noticed by now, customized safaris offer many choices to choose from which often leads to a lot of confusion and added cost.
